Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group: Using Technology to Improve Your Customer Experience
At Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group, we have a confession to make: We thrive on the latest nerdy gadgets. We use the latest technology around to bring you high quality, accurate appraisals.
While appraisal fees haven't necessarily gone up over the years, the demands placed on individual appraisers have. We offer the highest quality appraisals, and cutting corners would compromise everything we stand for. So, we've simply optimized our routine processes to do more in less time. Our continuous efforts to be the best have convinced us that using the very latest in new technology allows us to bring you more accurate reports, quicker turnaround times and of course, the very best in customer service.
In the past, most of our orders were delivered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back into the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
Take a look at how Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group makes ordering easier
At Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group we understand it's all about "cycle time". We use our resources to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Using Technology in the Field
Gathering the data for an appraisal is an intensive process. We spend quite a bit of time gathering both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group.
We've learned that taking notes traditionally, using pencil and paper, generally takes longer since we we have to enter everything back in at the office. Don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application written for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy outdated tape measure, we're seeing that more appraisers are adopting accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that your final report is thorough and without error, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. Our goal is to save you time and money.
Modern appraisal report delivery ensures our clients have a number of ways to get their report
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Generally our clients are most comfortable with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's a lot better than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to innovate how you receive your report with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had an attachment blocked because it was too big? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. When we deliver an appraisal through this website, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group simplifies things by using Digital Workfiles
It would probably be easier if appraisers could complete an assignment, deliver it and never worry about seeing that document again. However, appraisals are employed to demonstrate the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.
To sum it all up, Personal Service Realty's Residential Valuation Group leverages our embracing of technology to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we skip the paper file cabinets and only need our computer to recall precisely what that job was about.
These are just a few examples of how we use technology daily. Utilizing the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to save time without cutting corners and deliver a better product to you, our client.
